A prototype is an early version of a product, service, or system built to test design ideas, functionality, or user experience. Unlike a Proof of Concept, which focuses on technical feasibility, a prototype explores how something will look and behave in practice. Prototypes may be physical models, software wireframes, or service simulations, helping teams visualise and refine key features before full-scale development. They support iterative feedback, enabling designers and stakeholders to spot issues early and reduce costly rework.
