Rapid Prototyping is a fast, iterative approach to creating early models of a product, system, or process to test ideas quickly and gather feedback before full development begins. It uses techniques such as 3D printing, low-code software tools, or visual mock-ups to shorten feedback loops — allowing teams to design, build, test, and refine in hours or days rather than weeks.

In project management, rapid prototyping supports innovation and risk reduction by emphasising speed over perfection. The aim is to learn early, fail cheaply, and adjust quickly. It is widely used in engineering, product design, and software development where user feedback or technical proof is needed before committing major resources.
